Helping You

Becoming a Believer

We can know that we are saved. It is not a guessing game. It is too important to wait until we die to find out whether we will be in heaven or in hell. The Bible teaches that all are sinners (Romans 3:23).

To find out what this means, click here!

The payment that we must make because of sin is death. Every person who sins must die. We read in Romans 6:23, “For the wages (payment) Bible Studyof sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We have heard that a good person goes to heaven and a bad person goes to hell, but the Bible teaches that you have to be perfect to go to heaven. And none of us are perfect. God is sinless, and He can’t allow one sin to enter heaven because He is holy. Revelation 21:27 states that there will “in no wise enter into it (heaven) anything that defiles, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie.” We may not have worked abomination, but all of us have made a lie. We can’t enter heaven with any sin. It is impossible to work your way to heaven because you can’t pay for the sin that you have already committed by your good works. Good works will never make your perfect (Ephesians 2:8,9).

Following Christ

Jesus Christ died on the cross to give us His righteousness. Second Corinthians 5:21 says, “For He (God) hath made Him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made Biblethe righteousness of God in Him.” If you have the righteousness of God, how righteous are you? That righteousness does not come by our own works, but by the fact that Jesus took all of our sins and paid for them when He died on the cross.

That does not mean that everyone is saved. It means that everyone can be saved if they receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. John 3:16 says that “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth (puts their trust) in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” If you would like help in finding God, please give us a call at (507) 289-6750. We are always willing to help someone come to Christ.
