Membership Foundations Class

Pastor LaPine teaches this class for anyone who is interested in learning more about the church. The class begins with a simple principle found in Amos 3:3, “Can two walk together except they be agreed?”

We desire to have a church where people walk together, but no one is in agreement on every point. We desire to be in agreement on the “fundamentals” of the faith, the most basic tenets to what makes us followers of Jesus Christ.

This class meets several times each year and is a revolving class. You can come in on any lesson and continue until you have completed each of the eight lessons.

I’d like to take this class. Email info@cbcroch.org

Growing in Christ- 222 Discipleship

Salvation is a free gift, but that is just the beginning. Once you come to know Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have a desire to get to know Him as your friend and as your Lord.

The church is His body on this earth. He desires us to fellowship together for strength, encouragement, and teaching. To grow in your Christian life, you need to spend time daily in the Word of God, and spend time with God in prayer.

The Lord has also given you the responsibility to love one another and to share His good news of salvation with people who do not know what it means to be saved.

I’d like to take this class. Email info@cbcroch.org

Children's Ministries

We believe that Christian education never ends. Our desire is to teach people so that they may know Him better and be able to teach Him to others. The development and progression of our Christian education at Calvary Baptist results in mature believers striving to become more like Christ.

Pre-School

Infants and toddlers are welcome here at Calvary Baptist. We have well equipped Pre-Schoolfacilities and trained workers that will take care of your children during our services, Sunday school, and Wednesday night Bible studies. We want you to gain as much as you can from God's Word.

Children and Middle School

The mission of Calvary Baptist Church is to know Christ and to make Him known. To accomplish this, it is important that we educate the children and give them the tools necessary to learn and understand more of the Word of God on their own.

Awana

During the regular school year, we provide the Awana program on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Your children (Kindergarten through 6th grade) will have a great time playing games, singing songs, listening to Bible teachers, and memorizing scripture as they earn various awards. Awana also provides some special activities throughout the year, such as Awana Grand Prix and Campfires.

Sunday School

Children of all ages will gain a tremendous benefit as they take part in our sunday school hour. Our teachers are well qualified. They love the Lord and they love children. They are committed to training your child in the truths of God's Word in a creative learning environment.

High School

Word of Life Youth Group

Teen youth group meets every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Our aim is to create a "green house" environment that is conducive for spiritual growth so that young men and women don't just survive, but thrive and grow as stable individuals.

High School

Teens will have a great time as they worship in fellowship and spend time studying the Word of God. They will be part of a discipleship group in learning to grow in their relationship with Christ.

Lifelines - Sunday morning

Lifelines is a study through the scriptures. In the six years that a teen is part of youth group, they will have studied through the entire Bible both personally (in their weekly quiet times) and corporately (in the sunday morning lifelines study).

Adults

Men’s Bible Studies

The men in the church enjoy many activities and opportunities for meeting other men. Each year, we travel to Northern Michigan for a snowmobile retreat. We also have a golf outing every year. We participate in an annual Men 4 Christ event, which brings 600 - 800 men together to hear some great Bible teaching. The men have a weekly Thursday lunch Bible study and a once-a-month Saturday prayer breakfast. They also play basketball throughout the winter and enjoy softball and football in the summer and fall.

Ironman

The Ironman Bible study mMen's Bible Studyeets on Wednesday night and is designed to help men to become better husbands and fathers. It meets each Wednesday night throughout the year from 7:00 - 8:00 pm.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Once a month, our men meet for breakfast (usually made by some of the men) and a time of fellowship. One of the men shares a short devotional that is pertinent to men. We have opportunity to share prayer requests and spend time in prayer.

Ladies Bible Studies

Calvary Baptist offers the women of the church many activities and events. Each year, they enjoy a mother/daughter banquet and a Christmas party. They also have Bible studies on Tuesday morning, a Precept BiWomen's Bible Studyble Study on Thursday morning, and a Bible study for working women on Wednesday night.

Ladies Precept Studies

The Precept Bible Study meets on Thursday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30. This is a verse-by-verse study of books of the Bible. Each session is followed by a DVD presentation related to the lesson of the day.

HOME (Helping Out Mothers With Encouragement)

HOME meets once a month during the school year from 9:30 - 11:30 am. The mothers drop off their infant and pre-school children with qualified women who faithfully watch these children so that the mothers can have a Bible study time. They cover topics that are pertinent to the lives of these young women.

Seniors Fellowship (55+)

The Seniors Fellowship provides opportunities for the "more mature" to be involved with other seniors of the congregation and of the community.  MoSeniorsnthly meetings of Bible study & lunch, let folks get to know each other better. Visits to the homebound and hospitalized, afford times to share faith in Christ. Occasional trips to places of interest and visits from guest speakers challenge believers in their walk with the Lord.

ABF (Adult Bible Fellowships)

Our church has a once-a-month small group Bible study and fellowship in homes on the second Sunday night of each month. ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) brings new people and older members together and helps them to get to know one another in a better way for prayer and accountability.

We split up the church by class groups and meet in homes on those designated Sunday evenings. We all study the same materials. Small groups allow for more personal involvement and interaction.

Singles

Singles Ministries

Our singles are split into two groups: the college age group called the “Impact” class and the career singles class called the “Crossroads” class. Both classes study material that is relevant to them in their particular time in life, but they also take time to study books of the Bible. Each class has its own activities, but they also get together for combined fellowship.

Summer Programs

Summer CampSummer Camp

Every summer, we offer opportunities for children and teenagers to go to a week of summer Bible camp. Our state association camp is Bass Lake Camp . Occasionally, we take teens to good Bible Camps in other states to broaden their perspective.

Ages 4 through 6th grade can enjoy a vibrant week of songs, crafts, missionary stories, and Bible studies as they explore various themes. Bring a friend and join the adventure.
